St. Pats Celebration

The official campus celebration began in 1908, when a group of Rolla students declared that St. Patrick was the patron saint of engineers. St. Pat’s has since grown to encompass a full week of events, as well as campus traditions that begin in early March. While some see St. Patrick’s Day as a singular day of celebration, Missouri S&T sees it in a little different light. Starting in early February, competitions between the Greek Houses as well as organizations on campus start as we all fight for that all-elusive first place finish. Our competitive edge comes out as we battle other fraternities in various, often hilarious challenges such as; Limerick contests where we come up with poems often ribbing a St. Pat board member or fellow Greek, Trivia contests, water-balloon tosses, a 7-legged race and much, much more.

Apple Polishers is an annual event held every spring at the chapter house. Its purpose is designed to bring in faculty and staff from Missouri S&T and introduce them to what greek life is really like. It’s a time to break stereotypes, and a time to recognize many of our members for their academic achievements as well as the faculty and staff who help make it happen.
